Welcome
Welcome to the Toowoomba and Downs Morris Group, an affiliated member of COLLECTABLE AUTOMOTIVE REGISTER INC.
Our aim is to foster the preservation and the active use of all Morris vehicles. To encourage the rebuilding and improvement of the Morris and the installation of safety equipment in them.
Membership to the Group shall be open to any person who is interested in pursuing the aim of the Group.
We are a club run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts and cater to the interests of owners, drivers and fans of Morris vehicles throughout the Toowoomba and Darling Downs region.
Morris cars have earned a reputation for being a reliable, honest, straightforward, and forgiving vehicles. Our goal is to help you get the most enjoyment and satisfaction from Morris ownership and to encourage members to participate in club events and activities.
Club events and social events are held regularly, and participation in the National Rally held every second year helps to create a community where members can share their passion for these great cars with other Australian Morris clubs.
Owning a Morris can be a lot of fun, but sharing that experience with other Morris enthusiasts adds a whole new dimension to enjoying your car.
Whether your pride and joy is a concourse collector's item, in pieces on the garage floor or just a dream, we welcome you to our club.
About Us
The Toowoomba and Downs Morris Group was established in August 1990 with the aim of bringing together people interested in forming a club for Morris Minors.
Today, the club includes and promotes the preservation and use of all Morris vehicles. Members own more than 60 Morris cars between them and include not only Morris Minors but Z Utes, Morris 8/40, Mini's and Oxfords to name a few.
The clubs' function is to provide a social environment for members and features many events throughout the year. The wide variety of activities offered provides something for every Morris owner, with members participating in car shows, brunch runs, rallies, parades, weekend trips, wine tasting tours, picnics and just about anything else we can have fun doing.
We also meet up with the other Morris clubs of Brisbane and Ipswich to join their outings and social events for drives and day trips around Southeast Queensland.
Club members also serve as a talent and resource pool for each other by sharing experiences and Morris knowledge. Whether you are interested in maintaining, restoring, rebuilding or concourse, there is someone in the club who can help with advice, information or even an extra pair of hands.
Most members own one or more of these classic British cars, however owning a Morris is not required to join the Toowoomba and Downs Morris Group, just an interest and a passion is all we encourage.
Our Meetings
Meetings are held monthly and are social occasions where members can meet for a friendly natter and swap stories about everything and anything.
There's even a nasty rumour circulating that some of them find the meetings entertaining...
Club Meetings
Held at 7:30pm on the third Thursday of each month: Dr. Price Rooms, 6 Little St, Toowoomba.
