Hi Graham

How did you sort out the track?

G’day

After we put the new brakes/hubs on with the new wheels we were 31mm over width. Embarassed
The initial thought was to get narrower wheels but getting something to fit with the new brakes was a problem. So I had a chat to the man who made the brake kit and he changed the hubs which saved us 30mm, problem solved? Very Happy

Cheers

G’day

The engineer has had a look at the car and is happy with the changes we made, to the hubs, to fix the track. But is concerned about the clearance, on the out side, between the tyre and the mudguard. A Panel beater looked at it today and recons he can do a bit of a technical adjustment, tomorrow, that will give us the room we need. That being the case all will be well and we move on to the wiring.

Cheers

isn't the morry front end a real pain in the ar@e

especially when you want to make it more stable and safer by fitting wider wheels

Yes mm to play with.
I think the 15" rims give us a few more mm on the inside to play with so they just fit.

G’day

A few pictures, the technical adjustment on the guards worked – tyres now inside and clear of the guards. The replacement front cross member is now in place. The bit under the bumper is a work in progress.

G’day

Not sure of the technical terms or exactly what happened as I was not there.
The lip has been rolled and the bloke used some sort of machine to stretch the guard out.
I know he used some sort of heat gun to heat the paint so it did not crack.
You can see in the pictures a very gentle curve about 10mm from standard which was all we needed.
Hope this is of some help.

Cheers

Hi Again. Are you intending on reducing the distance between the top of the tyre to the bottom of the gaurd. Its actually a technical adjustment on the torsion bars, lol

cheers mate

G'day

We had the same technical adjustment as the front done to the back guards, just to be sure on clearance.

This is close to the finished look. The wheel near the front would not fit under the back guards pity.

With this one you have to imagine a door.

Cheers

G'day

No not yet, it is booked into the auto. elec. tomorrow to start the wiring.
We have the engine wiring loom but not some of the inside. The whole thing is more complex than I thought when I started other wise I might have gone for a manual but too late now.
Hopefully it will keep up with the traffic with the air on, when finished.

Cheers

G’day

I have finally got a Morry that will go under its own steam.
I got it up this morning; not sure what year it is, it looks a bit of a conglomerate, it has wide wheels and looks to be lowered.

Cheers

Yes but when is the real one coming. They promised you Christmas. now it nearly March. You must be really p****d off. I know I would be

It shouldn't take any more than 2 days to wire it up. They must be stretching you out.

I feel I need to see yours going as well. Our morries have been parallel for about 12 months now.

Start applying some pressure. If your stuck, Canberra is on the way to Darwin. Bring it over, Ill finish it for you.

I must say Graham, I wish I had your patience, I really do.

Keep your chin up

Darren

G’day

I have a bit of a medical problem that has had me dealing with the health system for the past few years; there you spend 99% of your time waiting for something, treatment, recovery, doctors etc. so you get accustom to it. It dose not mean you like it but nothing you can do about it. I suppose some of that has spilt over to the car.
I am not sure how to exert more pressure than I am. They obviously do not need the money otherwise they would get it finished to get paid.

Cheers

G’day

Finally back from the Auto elec, now a bit of putting together and connecting things so he can finish it off next week. Then the engine can be running the week after and the paper work finished the week after Easter. It sounds easy if you say it fast but hears hoping Murphy takes a holiday.

Cheers

Looking good Graham, two questions, how are you squeezing the radiator behind the grill and where have you chosen to fit the ecu's. I am tossing up extending the front guards on my project as I am using lights from another make of car.
