|
|
hey guys,
new here and i have a 1960 morris major elite (am hoping the wires are similar/same colour to a morris minor ) and the flasher can for the blinkers has been removed (was actually stolen) so wires are just flopping around and blinkers dont work
so if it was not too much trouble would one of you guys be able to have a look at one of your minors (unless you have a major) or can look it up on a wiring diagram and let me know which colour wire goes to which position on the flasher unit
mine has a yellow wire and red wire joined together that looks to go to 1 terminal
2 x light brown wires that go to another terminal
and finally a single wire which is either dark brown or black that goes to a third terminal
any help will be much appreciated, thanks
jeff

Hello Jeff and welcome,
You had better keep the Major under lock and key, otherwise you might come out one morning to find the front brakes and the rear end missing
I can't confirm if the Major is the same as the minor on the blinker setup, but someone who does will get to you with the details.
cheers

Looking at the colour codes from the first link given by Grant, and the colours you have posted Jeff, it appears that it has been rewired.

I recently acquired a 59 Morris major series II, looks to be in original condition, if it ever stops raining here and I can step outside I'll try and locate the flasher unit and let you know what I find.

Had a quick look at the indicator switch and flasher. The leads to the indicator were blue, yellow and green. There were 6 (I think) leads into the flasher unit and they were yellow and red, didn't get time to track the 'spaghetti of leads' up the steering column.
