Hi Sam and welcome to our community. That distributor looks good. Are they easy to come by and are you able to let us know where we may be able to purchase one.
I have just about finished my morrie. Go to the MY MORRIE section then click on LIBBORS MORRY , NEARLY READY FOR THE ROAD. You will find some pretty inspiring pictures there
Cheers
Darren

@Robbo: Thanks mate, much appreciated : )
@Oliver: Thanks mate, hows your lil morry go with the auto? I'm very eager to see how the auto will go behind the A14...
It's slowly getting there! It desperately needs a paint job, so that's on the ever-growing list along with a new diff, bench seat... I've also got plans to put a nice wooden tray on the back with some matching sides. Just taking one thing at a time : )
Also, thought I'd mention that the original wheels that were on the ute are up for grabs. Again, make me an offer, they're just sitting here taking up space and I won't be using them again.

Wow, I can't believe how long its been since I've updated the build. A lots been going on.
To summarise:
. Finally got it on the road
. Got it tuned but the tuner had some issues with the ignition timing. He couldn't get the static ignition timing any further than 5* retarded or it would ping.. even though it's supposed to be 5* advanced from the factory.
. Turned out after playing with it myself that the advance curve was wayyy out.
. Spent a day playing with the springs and weights to try and get the curve somewhere close. Without any diagnostics I think I've managed to get a reasonable curve, static timings properly set to 5* advanced. Only thing is, it pre-ignites only when you're WOT and at high rpm. Vortex 98 solved the problem so far, but I think the fueling's not right now that I have sorted the ignition timing. I know Webers generally use fuel but I'm only getting 250kms max to 30L. Does anyone have a simliar setup to reference that off? I'm not too keen to spend another $300 to get it re-tuned... :-/
. Just recently the engine developed a really rough idle, turned out the modulators diaphragm on the auto was stuffed, replaced it and idles sweet again
. Made a new wood tray for the rear, came up fantastic in my opinion
. Installed all new poly bushes in the front end, a little heavier oil in the dampers and modified the height to sit somewhere nice in between lowww and decent clearance/comfort.
. Purchased a H150 Sunny diff and am in the process of fitting.
I'm now onto 'Stage 2' of things I want to do the morry
The list includes (in rough order):
. Finish diff installation.
. Adapting the Volvo discs and 4-pot callipers I have here to the Morry uprights with custom stub axles (More on this later)
. New wheels.
. Megasquirt crank fired ignition.. and fuel injection not long after. I'm sick of dealing with carbies
. Fitting telescopic shockies to the front instead of the Armstrongs.
. Paint job.
Most updates have been mechanical, but heres a few pics ---
(I need to take some more recent ones)
New tray, this was after the first coat:
New diff awaiting mounts:

Mate the tray looks great, & i also prefer wide steelies over alloy mags on a morrie (and early holdens)

The best whitewalls are the Diamondback range from John Cain in Newcastle
This is the USA web site http://www.dbtires.com/index.html
John Cain is the Aussie distributer.
Just keep the Ute registered as it will be hard to get it engineered with different wheels.

I have used Main, second and third from the Ute pack and replaced the rest with a sedan pack, ride is better than the Ute but still able to carry some weight.

Ok, thats what I'm after. So is that the top three from the ute pack and the bottom 2 of a sedan pack?

I have 6 leaves, so 3 Ute and 3 sedan, Libbor has the same and they handle the power and weight well.
