Just a quick query. Looking to get a new gen for my 948cc project. Has anyone bought one of these cheap Lucus copies off fleabay? Or should they be given a wide birth. Basically half the price of a reconned one.

They look OK no reason not to use one.
I have a good second hand one on e-bay at the moment. I removed mine in lieu of an alternator.

Well its a bit of a mixed bag car. I actually have my 948cc. Gearbox and rear end in a 1948 Morris 8 E series. I know that doesnt really mater. As if it's converted then why not an alternator. Thing is I want it to run like it should first. And my knowledge of electrics is basic at best

If your knowledge of electrics is basic then you cant go wrong with an alternator.

And they are MUCH better than a generator

You coould almost say that you need rocks in your head to go with a generator
