After fearing that the All British Display Day was about to collapse a few years ago, the new venue at Kings School, Parramatta has certainly revitalised it.
I don't think there has been a bigger turnout of cars in the 20 odd years that I've been attending.
There must have been at least 750 cars there, if not close to 1000. Usually the Morris Minors are the most common display car at shows, but we were greatly outnumbered by Rolls Royces, Bentlys & Jaguars.
We think the parents of the students just parked their own cars in the display area hence pushing up the Rolls Royce numbers Mr. Green .
Our club (NSW) had 26 cars on display, which is pretty good going in itself.

Here's a few pictures of the cars on display (click on the picture to enlarge):

and a parts car:

It really has become a great day for the British cars. The Kings School also hold their Art display on the same day & there's plenty of crafty bits & pieces to wander through Very Happy .

PS: Let me know if these pictures slow the forum too much for those on dial up. I'll put a few as links instead if it does.

The only thing I don't like about the NEW all british day is that the kings school wouldn't let them have the swapmeet, it used to be the best swap for pommy parts, it was small but wasent over run with Ford Holden & antiques.
I was at the meeting when they decided to go to the Kings school, The representative said they would pay the all british acosiation (I should have gone to school longer), what ever the takings were from the old swapmeet to can it.
I know it was dying a slow death & the move has saved it, it's just my thoughts on it.

It doesn't have the traditional swap meet but there's various Traders selling parts.

From memory:
Paul Corey,
JW Classic (Melbourne),
Electrical supplies (can't remember the name, but a swap meet regular),
Mountain(?) Motor Books,
Various detailing, T shirt/photo & regalia traders.

The T shirt/photo mob were taking photos of a few cars as they came through the gates. Barry paid $45 for a framed A3ish photo of the yellow convert.

Not as good as the usual swap meet, but that was getting smaller & smaller as time went on.

My mate & nieghbour paid 15 bucks for a white choke nob for his wolsley, Paul corey wouldn't budge on the price, he also wanted 50 bucks for a white gear nob, a bit rich for my mate on the day.

I'm just saying he was there - I'd never buy off him unless I was really stuck Mad .
I've been in the Sydney club for 22 years (most of that time on the committee in some way or another) & have seen Paul at most swaps & the odd club outing & he still doesn't know me Shocked .

I did pick up an interior light lens for the 1098 though from JW Very Happy .

yeah i rekon u should get together with all the other pommy car clubs in sydney and organise a pommy swap, it wouldnt take a whole day to get through all the anteques and garage sales, and the rest of the day you could fit the parts to the car
