I'm sorry to say Mr DH,
but Winston looks like he needs to be under the constant care of a specialiest and in the intensive care unit.
But there is always hope as whilst he does not look pretty,
It seems he comes from good stock and after some rest and recouperation, I'm sure he will be feeling "BRAND NEW" again in no time.
Best of luck to all involved.
A great addition to the Hands family.
I hope Mother is resting and Father is working HARD

Memo::
Department of Child Welfare
Brisbane 2007
...To the parent involved...
Sir /Madam
Congratulation on your new arrival..
Now as you may or may not be aware there is due to the goverments ongoing push for more young people like yourselve's to become parents there are more than enough online departments that can give good sound advice for new arrivials and there upbringing.
Please feel free to at any time to access any of the departments and there is a few large papers and manuals on the subject here in this department that would quite willingly be forwarded to you if you were to feel the need for further reading on the subject.
Now as you know with this goverment push there has been quite a large population responce and we therefore recomend that you try and book in early for preschool open day that will be held in Brisbane 2009.
Once again Congratulations on your new arrival.
For the DOCW
Tony

As you know Mr Hands I will be visiting the Early Childhood Clinic next week as my baby moped needs it be taken from the clinic home to be with her parents and as a gift for Winston I feel sure there are a pair of stroller brakes somewhere up here from my other sons baby days (Oscar allmost grown up theses days)
Anyway as a father I know only too well what it is like to have a young one running around and just no way of pulling them up.
They were in good nick just need a coat of blue paint..

DH,
I have a petrol tank filler pipe lying around with my bits and pieces, I'll have a look for a cap to with it if it's there. Email me your address and I'll post it your way.
It's from my 54 Split Screen. This was to be my panel donor car, now lying dormant.

2 days of interuptions so only got the engine and gearbox in
the frames must warp or something
lining up the parts is not as easy as I thought it would be
brakes will take me time to look at every option for safety
anyway with some luck I will have Winston driveable in a week or two as I need to turn him around to weld a few panels on the other side
paint some rust proofing and later swing the doors
it is a very different and challenging job to make a bare chassis into a car
happy to chat to anyone has done the same thing
DH

Thanks for the offer DH. But all I am looking for is a home for my 2 old Moggy's that I can no longer keep as I have taken delivery of 'shiftingclock's' 4 dr.
My Moggy now has new number plates. Euro style NMO66Y. I was surpised they were still available.

Yes, I fear a vacuum cleaner pipe wouldn't have passed inspection.....could be wrong though!
What do you think the gap between the inner and outer pipe is for? Maybe it's for the auto shut off function of the bowser, but I don't think so as these where probably made before bowsers had that function.
Anyhoo, glad you got it ok.
Ciao.

The gap is so that air can come out of the tank while fuel is entering it - it reduces blowback.

Winston had a visit from Sir Frosty today and
gave me advice that helps ..thank you
a Friend found me the rear brake rubber kit and dust boots at a swap meet so I can go ahead and fit the rear brakes
Another friend has a double flaring tool to make up brake lines for me
(cost a six pack )
a great suggestion from Trev Aus to only swing the door shell first then add the rest of the door so much easier
now have drivers side doors swinging
found some VW rear lights for now
wrecking a donor car(not morry )
for the rubber door trim ,wiring loom, fuse box ,handbrake cables
wiper arms and motor , heater/fan and all sorts of switches, and brake line, floor carpet , light connections
trev aus
I ussually fit the door without the stainless top, it is easier to fit the base by it self, once thats right the top can be fitted & nudged (belted with block hammer & wood ) untill it fits the shape of the opening.
The door hinges can be shimmed out away from the pillar, or in you case dirty hands the B pillar can be knocked (dented) where the hinges bolt on, ussually it doesn't need much so go slow, fit all the doors first so you don't reduce the front door gap when trying to fit the rear.
some times the door will need twisting to fit the body, you could also try jacking the door underneith then hit the hinges with a hammer & piece of soft wood.
Wait till you get to the front guards, the doors can be perfect, then the guards to door gaps can be all over the place, then there is the grill
Morries always need to be moked up before painting.
Trev
