As some politician or advertising executive once said ...

"It's time"

plus the fact that I have been wanting to do this for about 30 years ...
... those that know me, they can attest that I do not rush into things

Starting point

Has the normal rust points in the bottom of the A pillars, and the floor has a few issues.
Not too many F's given when the B pillars drilled for a seatbelt anchor Shocked
The engines bay has been butchered a bit by apparently going to fit a datsun motor and box alongwith the firewall crossmember. Embarassed
Chassis rails are a bit ... yeah Eye Rolls
Apart from that, being a bare shell it seems ok

Yellow Convertible

Not many words written as it is approaching party time … but there were quite a few words said though, since last month …. Very Happy

So, it is mostly photo’s

Passenger floor is nearly done and dusted, so time to finish the A pillar repairs and get the doors happening.

Moved onto the drivers side floor etc and fixing the bottom of A pillars and door hinge etc.

If Santa is kind and brings a few presents, hopefully there will be more in the next instalment.

Have a safe and enjoyable Christmas everyone

Yellow Convertible #3

All about the house, things were quiet as a mouse ….
until Santa put his sled into the shed
and left the gift that just keeps gifting...

Very Happy

'twas the new year and new things to do,
So here is the next instalment, just for you.

Obviously had too much cheer at the end of the year,
And I became horizontal instead of vertical
So became more confused as to which way to go ……
East west or north south ... it was all to and fro

So flipped the coin and just went go, go, GO

Had a good stiff drink, and a jolly rethink,
To get back to the shed and do some more,
B pillars are now needed to have a refresh,

so we happened to have some traveller ones on the floor,
just to repair …
and then add the door.

Until next time

…. grind on ! Very Happy

Blue Woody

I think we were up to giving the diff a bit of a haircut so that it will fit in nicely ~ just like your old school haircut …

….. short back and sides, with a bit off the top

Need something to fit it on?
No problem (love those Christmas gifts)

Had a play, and, lock it in Eddie …

…. and then get the angle of the dangle (hopefully) correct

Need to source some U bolts and some bump stops as well, which is currently happening.
With the diff now positioned, work on the handbrake can progress as they are both from the same donor.
Quite a lot of head scratching and thought, the conclusion was, the new tunnel that was made and welded in, would have to be sacrificed and another way explored so that the donor car cables and handbrake unit worked, as the cables are connected underneath the floor above the tailshaft, unlike the minor setup.

The planets aligned, and from this..

… to this

... and on to here

Unfortunately, work needs to progress on some more bodywork on the tub, which is a bit of a disappointment ~ I thought it was in better condition than it is. Oh well …. it’s only money

On other progress, the chassis has been completed, sandblasted and painted …. yeehah

There is still lots and lots to do on the mechanicals and other stuff, so it will still be a while yet ! Very Happy

until next time ...
