Car ran beautifully all the way to Brisbane and all the events, on the way home monday we hit flooding just before gin gin, this was the start of our woes, miss firing , stopped at gin gin , crc works well, then excelerator cable went an hour sth of rocky, turned out to be a twelve hour trip to rocky, next day car wouldn't rev over 3000, with the new cable, fouled plugs - got that fixed, did a timing gear in mackay, so here I am in mackay at an interent cafe, on the forum, my sister is picking me up and we will trailer it home, all worth it though as the Nationals were AWESOME

Grant,

Return trip sounds like it really sucked. That rain on Monday was the pits. I got to Mackay Monday night, the only relief from rain was an hour or so around Rocky. took 11 hours to Mackay then cruised to Townsville the next morning.

got any ideas on better wipers? Mine were stuffed by the time I got home.

My wipers don't work at all!

I use RainX, works a treat.

I'm lead to believe Stracho has festiva ones fitted to his 4age, I'm going to look into that

Looking at my pics of Stracho's car, seems like your right. Food for thought and worth looking at. Did a similar converson with Gemini wipers on my Austin A40, room under dash is the biggest hurdle.

On the subject of Wipers mine have never worked well.
So I decided to do something before I went to Brisbane .
After some testing I found I had 11.3 volts at the wipers and 12.8 volts at the battery.
A jump cable from the battery and they worked every time. Following the wiring diagram the cable goes everwhere heading to the wipers. Which I believe leaves it with high resistance connections and voltage drop.
So I ran a new cable via a fuse to a relay using existing wiper switch to turn on relay.
Presto 12.8 volts at wiper and it runs well now.
Do not forget wipers are switched through the negative to earth. Yellow Sedan
