We have just bought home our new project.......

1958 1000 tray back ute with a Datsun 1400 GX motor and 5 speed gear box.

We'll strip her down and give her a whole re-build hopefully in time for the 2011 Nationals!

The blue ute in the background is our general working ute. We use it for mowing and gardening. It has a Datsun 1200 motor and gear box.

The new one is going to be stripped bare, sand blasted and rebuilt from ground up. Keeping the 1400 and 5 speed gear box as it's a fantastic set up. As is the car could be put on the road now, but we have dreams of seeing this one go to the Nationals as we got the bug!!

PS) We're also looking for an orginal ute to restore as a styleside. If we can find one that is.

Did you get to the Nationals at all?

Yes I got there for the saturday display, very interesting.
Plan A is to drive Morrx to the next one, should be fun.
