Looking so good Nancy

When you paint your wheels; I think a red stripe on those would set it all off nicely Very Happy

Thanks Javert & Sir Frosty

Really appreciate the feedback. I love the red stripe too and think it suits BB well.

As for the paint colour black, it is hard to keep her dust free. It picks up every speck and even when you wipe her down by the time you get back to where you had started she's got dust back on her again. Black is her original colour but I don't think I would go with black again.

Best Regards
Nancy

Yes, point well taken Nancy. I think I would prefer a colour that didn't pick up all the dust and will go with the wood well.

I do like the 2010 holden dark green on the commodores, a dark blue. My only other plan was ford monza red...which is a nice bright red that looks clean Yellow Convertible

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments.

I'm still chasing a windscreen installer who knows what he's doing with a split screen and also chasing the passenger side chrome insert.

Would appreciate any help / advice.

Best Regards
Nancy

Hey Nancy are you bringing your black beauty to Ormiston
on the 16th Oct, for its official unveiling?

I am trying to do the same with my Tourer,
and I must say it is looking like I will make it!

Hi Oliver

Unfortunately BB won't be ready in time for the October 16th meet. However I am planning to be there to have a look.

Best Regards
Nancy

It has been a while since I've posted and as some of you know I have been trying to get my split screen front windscreen in.

Well after the first attempt with a windscreen installer, who partial damaged the new rubber with a slight split in the outer rubber, we gave it a go ourselves. You-have-got-to-be-kidding!!!! Mad So after a frustrating few hours we gave up. I'll purchase another rubber and hope I get onto an installer who can do it.

Nothing else has been done to BB as I really want the front screens in first.

Would appreicate if anyone knows how to overcome this obstacle. I really need a professional installer who knows what they are doing when it comes to old split screen windscreens.

Hope everyone will be at the Morris Day at Ormiston - October 16th. I'll be there to have a peak at everyones lovely Morris's.

Best Regards
Nancy

Hi Nancy.
I have a guy in Melbourne who did a fab job with all of my windows.

Split screen and 1000, front and rear.
I realise that Melbourne is of no use to you, however he may have a contact.
He is a really nice and helpful Guy who might even talk you through it.

PM me if you want his details.

Leigh Very Happy

Nancy, I would contact your local vintage car club, everything before the mid fifties had split screens, they should know someone good or have a member who is a wizz. I don't understand how it is a problem for a professional installer, most busses and alot of trucks still have split screens

Hi All

Finally BB has her front windscreen in. What a job!

Heaps of thanks to all for your suggestions & advice.

But I have to mention in particular the exceptional help provided from Neil @ Morris Minor Ipswich Club and also Dave @ Morris Minor Ipswich Club especially who came out and spent 2 hours of his time after work yesterday to help us get it in.

BB looks fantastic. Just have to let the rubber seat well for a few days, a couple more bashes on the screens to get them firmly set and then the new chrome centre pillar will replace the innovative temporary pillar made by Dave.

Excited now to get BB finished as that was the hardest part to get done.

Hi all, just an update on BB. I have purchased a donor Morris Minor 1000 which I will use the diff, brake hubs etc as they are a Major setup all round. As a bonus the wheels on this donor car are wide rims all with good tyres so will use these also on BB. BB is on stands awaiting the transplant. Here are some pics.

BB on stands

Wide rims ready to go already painted black to match BB
