Hi, I have two Morries. My special weekend car is a 1967 Traveller that I purchased from the Classic Throttle Shop here in Sydney a couple of years ago. It had just been imported. I found amongst the paperwork the name and address of the previous owner and when on holiday in the UK last year looked him up. Mr Maurice Castle was a great bloke who had owned the traveller for 35 years. He was a carpenter and used it as his work truck. When he retired eight years ago he completely reconditioned the traveller. The car is too nice to use for a runabout, so while in the UK I found a 1970 van, stuck it in a container and as they say, the rest is history. Marvin, the van, is my daily drive Very Happy ]

Welcome Andy,
.... and a welcome to the 'boys' too.

An interesting colour on the traveller - what's the name of that?

It sounds like you were very fortunate in getting the traveller - right place at the right time Very Happy

I bet Maurice (Morry) was dumfounded that his pride and joy ended up in Australia, and the new owner visited !
Great story!

Presume the van is a 1098 or had the previous owner put in something else?

regards

frosty

Hi Frosty, and thanks for welcome..The Traveller is "Rose Taupe" in colour. Yes, Mr and Mrs Castle were very happy to hear where their pride and joy was. They thought that they had lost it forever and a big part of their life was gone. They had taken the car to many shows and won awards with it. They were blown away to find the car is now in Australia. It is completely original, even down to the engine number. The van is a 1098 and standard gearbox, brakes, etc. I have fitted an alternator and transistorised ignition. See you on the road one day Very Happy
