Currently using "1100" escort engine (to stay within NSW RTA 15%rule).
Already made disc brake conversion using (surprise surprise) escort 2.0 hub, disc and calliper (see earlier post) not fitted to ute yet.
Rear axle from (you guessed it) escort to be installed. We have already made up narrow saddles (about inch and half wide from memory) for Morris springs to weld on axle case, once axle position and angle is known (after gearbox and engine position is finalised). Interestingly Morris Minor has wider chassis rail position than Escort and the axle widths in within a bugs whisker of each other.
Rear brake will stay std escort drum, thinking, ute light on rear (its a timber table top) with little chance of ever being loaded with anything bigger than his dog and lunch esky.
Regards

Hi Hendo,
I have a set of Escort/Sierra discs fitted to the front of my panel van and have discovered that they are bigger than Torana and Corolla discs which pushes the track out beyond the maximum allowable limit. If you have to get engineered and the engineer has the presence of mind to check your track width, you need to be between 1285 and 1310 mm. I am still having trouble getting through and with a helluva lot of fiddling and machining, I have got it down to at last to 1308 mm, so hopefully, I should make it this time.
Boeing Bob.

I suspect the Escort brakes that Bob is using is from a later Escort, more than likely the MkIII front wheel drive cars that we didn't see in Australia, so they could well be different from what you're using Hendo.

Cant believe it been a whole year since we started this conversion. Lots of stuff happened in the year and not much on the car. will post some pics of the progress in the next day or so, when I read up about posting pics again.

My uncle had a couple of minors, and from memory they didnt stop very well with 850s, hopefully the escort disc and drum combo will work for us.
