There may be a problem with my current voltage regulator in my morrie as there seems to be something draining power from my battery.( I'm having to leave the battery connected to a "trickle flow" battery charger when the vehicle is not in use.)

There is nothing in the vehicle that I can see that may also be contributing to the problem.

So it's going to be a process of elimination to get the problem solved.

I have just noticed on eBay a Lucas voltage regulator from a Morris MK1 Cooper S starting at $35-00 and the ad mentions it would suit a car using a generator, which mine does.

Can anyone enlighten me if this would suit the morrie. Eye Rolls

Hi Mate
The one on ebay will do ,however it has the later lucar type terminals so you would have to modify your wiring.
Feel sure you will get one here. Red Ute

Hi John,

Thankfully Leigh Smith has kindly assisted. He is sending one up to me in the next few days, and hopefully the problem may be then solved.

The other alternative you've mentioned , if I were to buy the one on eBay sounds like too much work.

Thanks again for your assistance. Very Happy

Thanks Leigh. I certainly will. Our club has a Service Day at the end of September. If I can't get it fixed before then, I will seek assistance on that day from the experts Very Happy .

Hi Leigh,

Unfortunately the club's scheduled Service Day has been deferred due to it falling on the Labour Day weekend.

So, at this stage, I have not yet had a chance to get the regulators swapped over. My mechanic neighbour has offered to swap them over for me,and it's probably better that way, as if anything should go amiss, I'll still be in the local area.

In the meantime, the ute is still driveable and doesn't give me any problems.

I'll keep you posted. (:

Thanks again.
