I have been booking for the Rally next year for a group of people and I am finding the logistics and travel very heavy. We have booked at Bendigo.
We arrive Friday then Sat morn we go to the Bendigo Swap Meet, then drive about 30klms for lunch at Morris Garages then drive to Calder Raceway about 120klms?? I think, then stay somewhere Sat night. This makes Saturday a very heavy day for the elderly like me. Sunday we are off to Caribbean Gardens from wherever we stay on Sat Night, as we need an early arrival we will have to stay close Sat night.
For myself and others it would mean leaving our Caravan at Bendigo and coming back to it Sunday Night, one again a long drive
I have e-mailed for some clarification and some mileages but so far no reply.
Have not missed a rally since getting my car on the road hope this is not the first

John As I am only 77 I am not yet elderly, but I can certainly understand your concerns. It may help to know that from Caribbean gardens to Bendigo is freeway/tollway all the way, so the drive back to Bendigo should be relatively easy. Google says 2 hours 10 min which I should think would be about right, even for a minor I see that going the other way will be in convoy via a scenic route.and will probably take a bit longer.
Bendigo swap meet is huge, and I found exhausting, on the one occasion I've been. You could certainly save some energy if you gave that a miss
All in all I think if it was me I would probably stay near Caribbean gardens on Sunday night and head back to Bendigo on Monday, but of course that's very much up to you. Hope this helps
Cheers JohnG

Our Group/Club are finally organised for the 2017 Rally . Booked a Caravan Park in Bendigo and we will be staying there Friday and Saturday nights and driving the 1.5 hrs to Melbourne on Sunday morning, early start but a easy freeway drive apparently drive.
