I bought an aftermarket kit for my Chev - it was a piece of cake to install.

Have you tried to fit one to a Morrie?
I must have fitted about 60 kits
Nearly impossible

I don't know how you'd get a 2 door to lock as I haven't looked too closely but the drivers door lock is enclosed in the latch itself, isn't it?
The forces used to operate the 4 door locks would be too great for the modern type solenoids also.
But, it has been done:

Hi, Yes ive seen that on the mmoc site but it wont work.
The relay bar has a slot in it at the lock end so while that setup will stop the rod moving, the lock still works as per normal.
The only way that I can see it working is if I get rid of the slot in the arm.
side effects of that will be that when ever the outside handle is moved, the in side one will move too. Not really a problem other that the effort to open the door will be harder as you will be moving double the amount of equipment. ie when opening the door from the outside, the inner door handle will work and vise a versa for the inner door handle
I hope you can understand what I am talking about

Yes the dead bolt will work. You wont need the sliding switch.

did you ever end up fitting central locking to your car?
I was thinking the dead bolt would be good.. a bit of a shame to drill into the pillar though but oh well! if only they had prices on their site!

on a normal central lock you can still unlock the door with a key, I think you will find this is a requirement by law,

if you could hook the key up to an electronic switch, you could get around that

shaved door handles are OK, there is nothing to say you need to be able to get in, the legal issue is getting out, there must be a mechanical release inside.

i was thinking more along the lines of using a switch with the interior door handle attached. or i guess you could do it with a cable piggy backed to the bolt, that would work too, and it frees up the inside of the door for power windows...

biggest problem is the original minor locks have to much load on them to work with available key less entry solenoids, some type of lever set up to reduce the load is what is needed if you want to run the standard lock and catch set up.
I went with bear catches which work well with solenoids
