Think i've got a problem with the wipers on my ute. They go a nearly full 180 off the side of the car, apart from damaging the paint(needs a paint job anyway) it may hurt someone some day. is this normal? ive brought it up with some people at meets, havent been to many though but they all seem to scratch their heads?.
Also the little clips(?) that hold the wiper onto the spindle, anyone know where i can get one of these tiny things from?

I suspect you must either have a motor off something else with a bigger driven gear or the spindles that attach to the cable are off something else and are geared wrong ie landrover or jag or something

Thanks guys, im on the bayside. its not fun driving in pouring run and hardly seeing a thing, i'll investigate this pin see if its the problem.
As for the year the car was made, im not sure now i thought and was told it was a 56, first of the one piece windscreens but i went searching for the codes on the plate a while ago and they didn't match anything. I'll have another search see what i come up with.

I don't have any early 1000 wiper motors at home but the "75450D" on your wiper motor is the same number on my 1970 sedans wiper motor.
Maybe a later "parallel wiper" motor has been fitted instead of a "clap hands" type.
The sweep angle is greater on the later wiper motors which would be a problem when fitted to an earlier 1000.

When I got my wiper motor back from the reconditioner it did the same.
If you loosen the top plate and turn the cap that has the wire on it it will adjust how far the the arms go before the return. Something to do with the contacts on the underside of the cap that control the motor

You can redrill a different position on the gear for the pin, move it in slightly, opposing the original position, you will have to disconnect the park & just turn them off at the bottom.

Wow I don't think I've seen a 150deg sweep, must be off one of the landcrabs, morris 1100 etc.
